Today’s blog highlights the Solo & Ensemble, a music festival, that is hosted at many schools throughout Wisconsin. Students can perform as soloists or with other students in small groups (duets, trios, etc.) all the way up to string orchestras, jazz ensembles and show choirs. Students who perform the most difficult level of music can also qualify to perform again at State. This festival, sponsored by the state association "WSMA," is the bedrock of learning music for individuals and small groups and is a perfect companion to the large ensemble band/choir/orchestra programs offered at the middle and high school levels.
This year, Homestead High School hosted the Solo and Ensemble. Mila’s cream cheese almond musical notes were sold in the concession area.
Mila’s is very proud of all of the musicians who participated in the Solo and Ensemble. It isn’t easy to learn a song and even memorize it and then perform in front of a judge and other peers in the room awaiting their turn.
“This delicious Mila’s cream cheese almond cookie gave me the energy to crush my solo and ensemble performances and take them all to state!” ~Alexandra Berryman
According to Anna, “as a former HHS orchestra member, seeing all the photos on the wall from previous years made me realize the importance of music for our children. It also reminded me of my experiences during Solo and Ensemble during my former high school years.”
HHS has a wonderful music program and Mila‘s is a proud supporter of it🎶🎶🎶🎶
